Fifty Ways? This Filly Only Needed One!

Fifty Ways? This Filly Only Needed One!

Mar 17, 2016

Former classy filly Lovemelikearock featured at Gosford on Thursday with her first winner when two year-old New Approach (IRE) (pictured) filly Fifty Ways charged home late to snatch a narrow victory.

Prepared by Anthony Cummings, Fifty Ways had trialled only once previously beating one runner home, but produced a good effort on race day to emerge a winner in the 1000 metre fillies maiden.

Retained to race by her breeders, who include Anthony Cummings and Duncan Grimley, who also raced her mother, Fifty Ways will be entered for Black Type races over the Randwick carnival.

A Group III winning daughter of champion sire Fastnet Rock, Lovemelikearock was sold at the Magic Millions Broodmare Sale last year for $320,000 to the China Horse Club.

She produced a colt by Snitzel for her new owners last spring and is now in foal to Newgate Farm's Australian Horse of the Year Dissident.

The current yearling from Lovemelikearock, a filly from the last crop of Street Cry (IRE), will be offered by Glastonbury Farm at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale next month as Lot 389.News from Breednet
