Anthony Cummings Racing has really found their mark in 2018-19 and has plenty of fire power heading into the business end of the season. MIZZY has been touted as the best maiden in Australian Racing after just missing in the Group 3 Ming Dynasty before lining up in the Group 1 Flight Stakes in the Spring. The Zoustar filly has come back in fantastic order as she rattled home in the Inglis Sprint to finish third in a hot field at Warwick Farm.

Anthony decided to give her a great chance to break the maiden status as she was pulled back sharply in grade to contest the 3YO maiden at Canterbury Park over the 1250m. A win is never guaranteed and after missing the kick she had to settle at the back and come from a position that is never easy at Canterbury especially in heavy conditions. Tommy Berry used of his experience to ensure she got to the outside and Mizzy did the rest to break through and get that much deserved victory.

There was no hesitation to head back to stakes racing and the Group 1 Surround Stakes was her next assignment on Chipping Norton Stakes Day at Randwick. The 3YO fillies look set to provide some quality racing as the first four were only separated by a long neck ensuring an exciting finish for the big crowd on hand. Mizzy was fighting out the finish as always and Jason Collett couldn’t have been more positive about his assessment of the fillies run at Randwick. She is set for a big Autumn and all going well hopefully will get the recognition that she deserves.
